Our April membership meeting was held today at the Gateway Art Gallery, where Herb Ellis—retired attorney and award-winning, lifelong photographer—was the guest speaker. Herb showcased the intricate and time-consuming process of developing his own negatives on-site using a “darkroom bag”. He also shared insights into his creative process, which was a treat for those present. Herb is one of the founding members of the Gateway Art Gallery, which is currently celebrating its 10th year!
The luncheon was well attended, and members were treated to delicious food provided by one of our dedicated community supporters. In addition, Brittany’s Cupcake Shoppe provided delectable mini cupcakes for everyone to enjoy for dessert.
If you missed the meeting, don’t worry! Our next one is in May—and we’re always looking for guest speakers for our future luncheons. If you have a passion for art and would like to share your knowledge with others, please get in touch. The League is always happy to welcome new members and to collaborate with other artists in the community.
