Jeanne began her art journey in 1979 in Live Oak, Florida. After moving to North Carolina in 1982, she continued honing her skills with well-known artists in Hendersonville, Asheville, and Brevard, in addition to studying at Blue Ridge Technical College. She began with oils and acrylics and discovered the beautiful North Carolina Mountains provided a plethora of subjects ready for transference from her eyes to canvas.
Returning to her native Florida in 1990, she added photography, watercolor, and pen and ink to her repertoire. Painting endeavors include studying with Mary Owens from Owens Designs in Lockport, NY, who incorporates oil rouging with pen and ink. Jeanne has become a well known artist for her abstract acrylics with resin and shard glass. She currently teaches classes at the Gateway Art Gallery in a variety of media including Art Journaling, Watercolor, Acrylics, and more. Many of her commissioned works and photography can be found in collectors’ homes across the country.
In 2013, Jeanne brought her vision to life for an art gallery on Main Street in Lake City, Florida, but it soon became evident the location was too small to house all the artists interested. She invited a few artist friends on board and the Gateway Art Gallery was born and moved to its current location downtown. Jeanne currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Art League of North Florida and she teaches monthly art journaling and watercolor classes at the Gallery.
