Jerilyn was born and raised in Florida, moved to Oregon, and became a business owner. In 2014, a client introduced her to the world of watercolor. After weeks of instruction and practice, Jerilyn dared to enter a plein air competition where her watercolor entry won a 3rd place award. Admittedly surprised, she said, “no way!” and was hooked. You’ll frequently find her at the plein air paint-out events hosted by Suwannee Valley Plein Air Painters with John Larner.
Having moved-back to Florida and currently retired, she tries to paint at least 5 days a week, and while honing her skills, she finds the process very relaxing. She enjoys the challenge of discovering new techniques and new subjects that seemingly flow from her brush onto the paper. In Jerilyn’s own words, “Painting with watercolor has given me a whole new perspective to my greatest passion—LIFE.”
Jerilyn loves her watercolors and hopes that you will too. Come see her work at the Gateway Art Gallery!
