The Gallery is honored to present A Reflection on the Life, Art, & Photography of Michael Vito Phillips, an exhibition celebrating the career and creative legacy of an artist whose work spanned fine art, photography, and design. Join us for the opening reception, where we will unveil a remarkable collection of pieces that showcase Michael’s artistic evolution—from his early days in Chicago’s vibrant art scene to his influential work in Tampa and beyond.
A Lifetime of Art and Design
Michael Vito Phillips built a dynamic and award-winning career in art and advertising. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he went on to work with major national advertising agencies, including Foote, Cone & Belding and BBD&O in Chicago. His talents led him to Tampa, New York, and Connecticut before he and his wife, Amy, chose to put down roots in Tampa.
From 1995 to 2020, Michael ran his own company, Phillips Design, where he provided art direction, illustration, and photography for major advertising and corporate clients. But beyond his commercial success, he remained a dedicated fine artist, printmaker, and photographer, showing work in prestigious juried exhibitions such as the Artists of Chicago and Vicinity Show.
