The Columbia County Library in downtown Lake City is hosting a one-artist show by award-winning local artist Carol Cieslik. A collection of Cieslik’s pastels and watercolors is housed in the library entryway.
Cieslik is largely self-taught as an artist but has always loved art. She began as an elementary education major but continued to take art classes. Later, as an adult, she traveled to Jacksonville to study watercolor there.
She has been an artist with the Art League of North Florida and their Gateway Art Gallery in downtown Lake City for nine years. She volunteers there, enters competitions, and most importantly, leads their Youth Art League. She and artist Ms. Pat Albala co-chair the Youth Art program, which offers free monthly fine art lessons to youths 10 – 18.
