Welcome to The Drawing Lab!
Get ready for an exciting drawing workshop that’s perfect for all levels—from beginner to advanced, everyone is sure to learn something new! It’s time to unleash your creativity and dive into the world of sketching as self-described “Drawing Evangelist”, Jaime Howard, takes you on a drawing adventure. Are you ready? Let’s go!
We’ll start by nailing down the basics of sketching with a pencil. You’ll learn how to make drawing a part of your daily routine, so you can keep honing those skills and discovering your inner artist. No need to fear that blank page anymore! We’ll help you conquer it, and you’ll be amazed at the artwork you’ll create.
Ever wondered how some artists capture every little detail? It’s all about “Looking vs. Seeing” – we’ll show you the tricks to observe like a pro, so your drawings pop with life and personality. And get this, your drawings won’t be flat and dull. We’ll teach you the magic of contour line drawing, and how to use cross-contour lines to add depth and shape to your creations. Your art will come to life!
Composition is the secret sauce to stunning drawings. Learn how to plan your work, and you’ll craft visual stories that keep viewers hooked and mesmerized. Speaking of mesmerizing, let’s talk about overlapping. You’ll use it to create depth and make your art truly captivating. Plus, we’ll show you how to lead the viewer’s eye through your drawing like a boss.
Line weight and value will become your new best friends, adding drama and contrast to your pieces. Proportions will be on point too, no more wonky-looking subjects!
Ever heard of a viewfinder? It’s a nifty tool that’ll change your drawing game, offering fresh perspectives that make your art stand out. And let’s not forget the magic of positive and negative space – it’s all part of the art wizardry you’ll learn in this workshop.
Pencil or pen? We’ll help you decide which one suits your style best. But most importantly, we want you to kick back, relax, and enjoy the creative process. Art is all about the joy of making, and we’re here to make sure you have a blast!
Come join us at The Drawing Lab, where you’ll explore the wonders of art, discover your hidden talents, and have a blast along the way. Let’s draw and have some fun!
